When to Use This Formal Disciplinary Meeting Letter
Use this letter where the alleged misconduct or unsatisfactory performance is serious, or where earlier informal action has not led to improvement.
The template also includes an alternative clause for cases where the employee’s conduct or performance has failed to improve after an informal discussion.

ACAS Code and Disciplinary Procedure Documents
Employers should follow the ACAS Code of Practice on disciplinary procedures.
The ACAS Code is not compulsory, but Employment Tribunals may adjust awards by up to 25% where an employer has failed to act fairly and reasonably in accordance with it.
