The model written statements for a periodic standard occupation and a fixed term standard occupation are produced by the Welsh Government. These should be read alongside the Guidance on Standard Occupation Contracts for use by private landlords and letting agents in Wales, which has further information on occupation contracts, how the model written statements are to be used and when a written statement is to be provided to avoid being in breach of the Act. The other templates are straightforward to use and provide useful resource for the pre-contractual stage of a letting. Each document is drafted using plain English so that it can be understood by lay people. Where it is necessary to use legal terms, an explanation in plain English is included.
