Guidance Notes: Property Inventories (Wales)
This Guidance Note: Property Inventories is a guide on the importance of providing occupation contract-holders with a detailed, accurate inventory at the start of a new standard occupation contract to help avoid disputes when a contract comes to an end. In Wales, it is mandatory to produce an inventory even for an unfurnished dwelling within 14 days of the contract date, unless a contract-holder agrees one is not required.
The Guidance Note provides an overview of the type and extent of information which should be incorporated, as well as a process which can be followed when carrying out a check-in and check-out inventory inspection with a contract-holder.
The Guidance Note should be read in conjunction with the Inventory Schedule.
