AML Identification Form

This AML Identification Form is for use by a lettings agency in Wales to check the identity of a new landlord client for anti-money laundering purposes.  The form can also be adapted for use by both a lettings agency or a landlord when checking the identity of new contract-holders or guarantors.   A separate form should be completed for each individual property owner, contract-holder or guarantor.

The form provides prompts to check the identification documents required to prove their name and address.   A list of acceptable documents appears in the form.   The letting agent or landlord should then assess the level of risk and record this on the form.

This form is suitable for low-risk individuals. For corporate clients or higher risk individuals additional due diligence will need to be undertaken. 

Please note: The Right to Rent Checks only apply to tenants in England and are not required for lettings in Wales.
