Acknowledgement Letter of Resignation during Maternity Leave
This Acknowledgement of Resignation letter is specifically designed for employers to respond to written notice of resignation submitted by an employee who is currently on maternity leave.
A woman on maternity leave may still have that leave even if she does not intend to return to work. Provided that the notice submitted is timed to coincide with the end of her maternity leave, the employee remains entitled to either Statutory Maternity Pay (“SMP”) or Maternity Allowance (“MA”).
This letter contains a number of optional phrases. These phrases should be selected based upon the correctness of notice provided; whether the employee is entitled to SMP or MA; whether a termination interview is to be held; the company property (if any) that must be returned; and the company’s policy on providing references to prospective employers.
