Unincorporated Charity: Trustee Board Minutes – Ordinary Meetings
This template can be used to record the proceedings at an ordinary regular trustee board meeting of an unincorporated charity where the meeting is to discuss matters related to the charity. The unincorporated charity will be in the form of either a charitable unincorporated association or a charitable trust.
Trustees will make decisions about the day to day management of a charity and will usually meet monthly or quarterly to discuss these matters. This may include a discussion of the charity’s activities and performance, etc.
Where any decisions are made, in each case the reasons for the decision reached, as well as a statement of the decision, should be recorded in the minutes.
There is no set format for trustee board minutes of an unincorporated charity and so these minutes can and should be adapted to suit each charity’s specific needs and processes of approval. Any decisions made at a board meeting are normally taken by simple majority, with voting on a show of hands. However, the charity’s constitution must always be checked.
