What the Formal Grievance Record Form Records
The form records:
- the key points of the employee’s grievance;
- the decision reached by those conducting the grievance hearing; and
- agreed action points.
It can be used alongside the Grievance Meeting Letter and the Grievance Meeting Decision Letter as part of the formal grievance process.
ACAS Code and Grievance Record Keeping
In handling a grievance, employers should be aware that if a tribunal upholds a complaint by an employee in a situation where the The ACAS Code Of Practice is relevant, and it is found that either side unreasonably failed to comply with one or more of the Code's requirements, the tribunal can, as a result, adjust compensation by up to 25%, either up or down.
The Grievance Procedures provide the wider framework for handling grievances fairly and consistently.
