This Letter explaining it is not appropriate to deal with an issue under the formal grievance procedure is for use where an employee has submitted a formal grievance about a matter that is trivial or frivolous.
It explains that the formal grievance procedure is intended for serious complaints and confirms that the issue should be dealt with informally instead.
The letter also directs the employee back to their line manager so the matter can be addressed through the appropriate informal route.
