New Grievance to be Part of Existing Grievance

EMP.GRIEV.11

This Letter advising that a new grievance will be dealt with as part of an existing grievance should be used where an employee raises an additional grievance. The letter advises that the new grievance or grievances will be addressed at the grievance meeting that has already been arranged.

Employers are required to follow fair and reasonable procedures for dealing with grievance issues and to ensure that any problems, complaints, or concerns that employees may have are dealt with fairly, consistently, and in a timely fashion.

When a New Grievance Can Be Included in an Existing Process

This letter is useful where a further grievance is connected to an existing grievance process and can sensibly be considered at the same meeting.

It helps the employer confirm that the new matter will be dealt with as part of the process already underway, rather than starting a separate grievance process.

Where the grievance meeting has not yet been arranged, the employer may need the Grievance Meeting Letter. If the additional grievance changes the scope of the meeting, the Formal Grievance Record Form may also be useful for keeping a clear record.

New Grievance to be Part of Existing Grievance is part of Employment. Just £38.50 + VAT provides unlimited downloads from Employment for 1 year.
