This Alcohol Policy is designed for use by Companies to highlight the dangers of alcohol abuse and to make it clear that it will not be tolerated at work, or allowed to affect performance. Unlike Drug Abuse which has a separate policy the abuse of alcohol is not an offence for anyone over the age of 18.
This document has been reviewed for compatibility with the GDPR. Reference is made to the Company's Data Protection Policy and all personal data (and sensitive personal data, which is particularly relevant where health matters are concerned) should be handled in accordance with such a policy.
This Alcohol Policy will better enable Companies to demonstrate that they are fair employers but still willing to respond firmly to poor behaviour in the office. It is also available in the Health & Safety Document Folder.
