This Basic Employment Contract (Part Time) can be applied to a wide variety of part time jobs, particularly junior roles and those requiring only the statutory minimum requirements for a contract. There are optional clauses which can be used depending on the employee’s employment status i.e. is the role temporary, fixed term or permanent?
This Basic Employment Contract (Part Time) contains clauses where you can insert the exact pattern of hours/days that the relevant employee will be working. There are also appropriate clauses for pro-rata holiday entitlement and salary. All employees must receive a written statement of their particulars of employment within two months of commencing employment.
The Working Time Regulations 1998 state that workers whose working day is six hours or longer must be granted a rest break during the working day of at least 20 minutes. This contract offers alternative clauses depending on whether or not the employee is entitled to a rest break.
