This Office Worker / Administrator Employment Contract (Part-time) is designed to be applied to a wide variety of jobs, in particular clerical, administrative and secretarial roles and many other junior levels.
Employers must provide workers and employees with a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment and this is often known as a Standard Form Section One Statement.

This contract contains substantial confidentiality provisions, as it is common for office workers to have access to confidential information. However, it does not contain restrictive covenants. The contract includes ‘boiler plate’ clauses, on hours, holiday, sickness absence, pension and retirement. There is a clause providing that employees may be required to travel on business anywhere within the UK or abroad.
The contract takes into account the requirement to provide part time workers with the same rates of pay and benefits as full time workers, but on a pro rata basis. The Working Time Regulations 1998 state that workers whose working day is six hours or longer must be granted a rest break during the working day of at least 20 minutes. This contract offers alternative clauses depending on whether or not the employee is entitled to a rest break.
