Job Share Employment Contract
The Job Share Employment Contract provides for a structured form of part-time working, where two people share one job. The duties are split and the hours, pay and benefits of the full-time role are divided in direct proportion to the hours each job-sharer works.
This contract is designed, for simplicity, on the basis of a 50/50 split of the work and includes time when both job-sharers will “overlap” to help ensure continuity.
This Employment Contract covers the requirements of a Standard Form Section One Statement and must be provided to the employee or worker by day one of employment.
Built for job-sharing arrangements with overlap
Job sharing has become an increasingly popular form of part-time or flexible working, giving flexibility to the employees involved and to the Company, particularly where there is overlap in hours during very busy periods.
Key clause if one job-sharer leaves
This contract includes an important clause clarifying what will happen if one job share partner leaves or is transferred within the Company. It is intended to give the employer maximum flexibility in handling that situation.
Employers should always discuss this possibility with job sharers before entering into a job share agreement.
