First Unauthorised Absence Letter
First Unauthorised Absence Letter is used where an employee has failed to attend work and has not contacted the employer to explain the absence.
Its purpose is to make contact with the employee and establish whether the unauthorised absence may amount to a resignation.
Making contact after unexplained absence
This letter gives the employee an opportunity to explain the absence and to challenge any assumption that they have resigned.
It also sets a date by which the employee must contact the employer with a reason for both the absence itself and the failure to notify the company.
Using this letter with the follow-up resignation letter
This letter should be used alongside the Final Unauthorised Absence Letter.
The follow-up letter is used where the employee does not respond to this first letter and confirms the employee’s implied resignation.
First Unauthorised Absence Letter is part of Employment. Just £38.50 + VAT provides unlimited downloads from Employment for 1 year.
