Letter from Agent Confirming Smoke Alarm Testing

This Letter from Agent to Tenant Regarding Smoke Alarm Testing is for use by a residential letting agent who is acting on the grant of a new tenancy. It should be printed on the Agent's headed paper and handed to the Tenant on the first day of the tenancy, or posted if the Tenant is not present.

Landlords, or a person acting on their behalf, are required under the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015 to check that each smoke and carbon monoxide alarm is in proper working order on the day a new tenancy begins.

This Letter provides the parties with evidence that the check has been undertaken. The Tenant is asked to sign a copy and return it to the Agent to confirm receipt.
