Adoption Leave Early Return Notice
This Adoption Leave Early Return Notice is designed for use by employees on adoption leave who wish to return to work early. Eight weeks’ notice must be given by an employee if they intend to return to work early. This letter constitutes such notice and specifies the date on which the employee wishes to return.
The employee’s right to return to their original job depends upon the amount of leave taken. If the employee takes only 26 weeks’ Ordinary Adoption Leave (“OAL”), they are entitled to their original job, pay, benefits and seniority. If the employee takes Additional Adoption Leave (“AAL”) following OAL, they are entitled to their original job or, where this is not practical, a job with conditions, pay, benefits and seniority at least as good as their old job.
