Acknowledgement Of Resignation

This Acknowledgement of Resignation letter is specifically designed for employers to respond to written notice of resignation submitted by an employee who is currently on adoption leave.

An employee on adoption leave may still take that leave even if they do not intend to return to work after it. Provided that the notice submitted is timed to coincide with the end of the adoption leave, the employee remains entitled to Statutory Adoption Pay (“SAP”).

This letter contains a number of optional phrases. These phrases should be selected based upon the amount of notice provided; whether the employee is entitled to SAP; whether a termination interview is to be held; the company property (if any) that must be returned; and the company’s policy on providing references to prospective employers.
