Food Handler Employment Contract
This Food Handler Employment Contract is tailored to apply to staff working in food preparation. The contract is applicable for temporary, fixed term and permanent positions.
Employers must provide workers and employees with a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment and this is often known as a Standard Form Section One Statement.

The contract contains specific clauses relevant to a food handler role such as, a clause detailing the food handler’s enhanced responsibility to inform their manager if they, or a member of their family, are suffering from any of a range of infectious diseases. There are also clauses covering areas such as, smoking at work, the safe use of knives and the employer’s right of search.
The Drugs and Alcohol clause enables the employer to carry out random breath and drugs tests on employees who are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
