Misconduct Final Formal Warning Letter
This Final Warning would normally follow an earlier warning where the terms of that warning have been breached.
It should be issued only after a full investigation and disciplinary interview, and states that the employee’s employment is at risk because of misconduct.
When to Use This Final Warning Letter for Misconduct
Use this letter where earlier disciplinary action has not secured the required improvement in conduct and the matter has escalated to a final warning.
The warning is placed on the employee’s personnel file and makes clear that continued misconduct may put their employment at risk.
What the Final Warning Covers
This letter sets out:
- the employee’s current position
- the target or targets for improvement
- that the warning will be disregarded for disciplinary purposes if conduct improves within the stated period
- the employee’s right of appeal and the number of days allowed for making that appeal
