Rent Authority Letter
This Rent Authority Letter can be used when a Landlord sells his freehold (or superior leasehold) interest to a new owner.
A Rent Authority Letter is a letter from the former Landlord instructing the Tenant to pay rent to the new Landlord. The Letter confirms the sale of the property and gives the name and address of the new Landlord. Until the Tenant has received such a letter, the Tenant is entitled to continue paying rent to the former Landlord.
A Rent Authority Letter is usually signed by the former Landlord and handed over to the new owner when the sale of the property is completed. The new Owner then sends the Letter to the Tenant. Our Letter from New Landlord can be used as a covering letter.
Optional phrases / clauses are enclosed in square brackets. These should be read carefully and selected so as to be compatible with one another. Unused options should be removed from the document.
This letter is in open format. Either enter the requisite details in the highlighted fields or adjust the wording to suit your purposes.
