Ineligibility to Request Flexible Working Letter
This Ineligibility to Request Flexible Working Letter is designed to follow on from the receipt of a written application for flexible working hours or from a flexible working application form. The employer should use this letter to inform an employee that they are ineligible to submit such a request.
The right to request flexible working is a day one employment right. A worker may not be eligible to request flexible working if, for instance, they have already made two requests in the last 12 months.
Employers must handle all applications for flexible working in a “reasonable manner”.
