This Example Notice Terminating Occupation Contract Due to Abandonment RHW28 is prescribed by the Welsh Government. The form should be used by a landlord who following investigations believes a sole contract-holder has abandoned a dwelling, and who has received no response from the contract-holder to the RHW27 warning notice during the four week warning period.
The landlord can issue RHW28 to the contract-holder on the day the property is to be repossessed bringing the occupation contract to an end without the need for a court order. Copies of the notices should be provided to any lodger or sub-holder of a contract-holder.
NB: For joint contract-holders Forms RHW29 and RHW30 should be used.
The prescribed forms should be used to ensure compliance with s220-224 Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 .
