This Notice Terminating Occupation Contract Due to Abandonment RHW28 is prescribed by the Welsh Government. The Notice RHW28 should be used by a landlord who having received no response to the Notice RHW27 from the contract-holder and after carrying out continuing investigations during the four-week warning period still believes a *sole contract-holder has abandoned a dwelling.
The landlord can issue the Notice RHW28 to the contract-holder on the day the property is to be repossessed bringing the occupation contract to an end without the need for a court order. Copies of the notices should be provided to any lodger or sub-holder of a contract-holder.
The prescribed forms should be used to ensure compliance with Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016.
