Improved Work Performance Confirmation Letter

The Improved Work Performance Confirmation Letter is to be written after a suitable time following the informal discussion confirming that the employee has achieved a satisfactory level of performance.

When to use this improved performance confirmation letter

This letter is used where the employee’s performance has improved following an informal discussion and the employer wants to confirm that improvement in writing.

It can be used alongside the Performance Management Review Procedure.

Informal discussion before capability warnings

Prior to any written warnings concerning capability, clear evidence of poor performance should be obtained and an informal discussion should take place between the employee and the appropriate manager.

Training, supervision and other general assistance initiatives should be discussed to seek ways to improve the employee's performance, and arrangements made to monitor continued performance.

If poor performance continues

In the event of continued poor performance, the employee should be sent a Notice Of First Disciplinary Poor Performance Hearing.
