Night Worker Employment Contract
This Night Worker Employment Contract is designed for use by an Employer when engaging someone to work at night. This contract provides for all the additional rights that are given to night workers and is up to date with the most recent legislation. This contract has been recently updated to include new and improved clauses providing enhanced protection for the employer.
Employers must provide workers and employees with a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment and this is often known as a Standard Form Section One Statement.
This Employment Contract covers the requirements of a Standard Form Section One Statement. This contract complies with these requirements and must be provided to the employee or worker by day one of employment.
This contract is suitable for use when employing adult staff, for young workers employers should consider using the Young Worker Contract instead.
This contract requires the employer to provide night workers with a free health assessment prior to them taking up their assignments - as well as at regular intervals afterwards. Furthermore, it contains a legally necessary clause which prohibits employees from working more than 8 hours in one 24 hour period if undertaking hazardous or strenuous work.
