Employee Data Protection and the UK GDPR
If your business collects and uses any kind of personal data about individuals (employees and contractors, for example) it will be subject to the requirements of the UK's data protection legislation. This consists principally of the UK GDPR (the EU GDPR retained in UK law under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This group of documents is focused in context and applicability on personal data relating to employees. As an employer you are a “data controller” under the data protection legislation and, in that capacity, your data subjects have certain rights and you have corresponding obligations.
This group provides documents to be used in relation to existing and new hire employment contracts, documents to help you deal with Subject Access Requests and also includes a range of HR-focused data protection policies.
