The County Court Form N225 is available on the Government website and the relevant page can be reached by clicking here. (See also our Free section for this document.) Form N225 is used to apply for judgment where the claim is for a specified amount of money.
Form N227 should be used if the claim is for an unspecified amount to be decided by the court.
Form N225 provides for a number of different scenarios:
- Failure of the Defendant to file a defence within 14 days – the Claimant can therefore request judgment in default.
- Receipt of the Defendant's Admission Form N9A where the Claimant accepts the proposed payment offer.
- Receipt of the Defendant's Admission Form N9A without a proposal to pay the debt.
- Receipt of the Defendant's Admission Form N9A where the Claimant objects to the payment proposal of the Defendant.
Letters to the Court for each of these scenarios are provided in this folder.
