Bribery Act Policy
This Bribery Act Policy is designed to help businesses address bribery and corruption risks and support compliance with the Bribery Act 2010.
The policy covers practical issues that commonly arise in day-to-day operations, including gifts and hospitality, payments to officials, and political and charitable donations.
Background: the Bribery Act 2010
The Bribery Act 2010 came into force on 1 July 2011 with the aim of preventing bribery and improving business practices in the UK and abroad.
The Act imposes requirements and obligations on businesses, particularly those dealing across borders and/or with public officials. Responsibility for avoiding bribery and corruption applies throughout an organisation, including management, employees, agents, subcontractors and other third-party associates.
