Parental Leave Request Letter
This Parental Leave Request Letter is designed for use by an employee to send to an employer when they wish to take time off to care for a child under the age of 18.
This letter is drafted to include all of the elements that an employer will need to see before granting a request to take Parental Leave, and the letter can be amended as necessary to suit the particular circumstances behind the request.
Whilst all employees are entitled to take up to 4 weeks Parental Leave a year (out of a total entitlement of 18 weeks), employees who wish to take the leave must send this letter with the required enclosures to their employer at least 21 days before they want their Parental Leave to start.
