This Parental Bereavement Leave Policy provides details on eligibility requirements to take parental bereavement leave, including notification procedures and eligibility requirements for statutory parental bereavement pay. 

Parental bereavement leave is a day one employment right. Up to two weeks of parental bereavement leave are available to employees on the death of a child under the age of 18 and to individuals who suffer a stillbirth after 24 weeks of pregnancy. Employees with at least 26 weeks’ service are entitled to be paid at a statutory minimum rate for this leave.

Parental bereavement leave may be taken at any time in the 56-week period following the death.
