Parental Leave Meeting Request
This Parental Leave Meeting Request is designed for use by an Employer in
responding to an employee’s request for Parental Leave, when it is deemed
that a meeting would be beneficial prior to giving a formal decision. This
might be particularly useful in cases where an employee acts in a
supervisory capacity and more thought must be given to how the company
needs to deal with the employee’s absence.
It is useful for an Employer to keep a record of these steps by using
correspondence as it may prove necessary in the future to demonstrate that
an employer acted reasonably in reaching a decision. This is particularly
relevant where an employer feels that it may be necessary to postpone the
employee’s Parental Leave.
Where an employer decides that a meeting is necessary this letter should be
sent to the employee to ensure that the meeting (which must take place
within 7 days of the request) reaches the employee in time.
