Confirmation Letter to Companies House of Members' Consent to Abridged Accounts

Where a company chooses to abridge all or part of its accounts, it must deliver to Companies House a statement that all members have consented to the abridgement.

What this Companies House consent statement does

This template is a notice to the Registrar at Companies House confirming that all members have consented to the abridgement.

The requirement may also be fulfilled by including a note in the filed accounts stating that consent has been received. Companies may nevertheless wish to send a separate notice, and this template can be used for that purpose.

When should you use this template?

Use this template if the company intends to notify Companies House separately that unanimous member consent has been obtained for abridged accounts.

A cover letter should accompany this consent statement.

Timing and limits on member consent

• Consent must be obtained each year and may only be given in respect of the preceding financial year (a continuing authority is not permitted).
• Consent should be obtained after the year end but before the financial statements are approved.
