Approved English Apprenticeship Agreement

As of 6 April 2026, Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) will be payable from the first full day of sickness absence. This contract has been updated to reflect this change but can be used immediately.

Employers must provide workers and employees with a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment, often known as a Standard Form Section One Statement. This English Apprenticeship Agreement covers those requirements and must be provided by day one of employment.

Use this agreement for apprentices in England on an approved apprenticeship standard

This English Apprenticeship Agreement is intended for use where the apprentice will be working in England in a sector or occupation for which there is an approved apprenticeship standard.

Optional wording for apprentices under 18

The agreement includes optional clauses that can be used for apprentices under the age of 18.
