Warning letter to tenant of building 11 metres or above of annual check of flat fire door
This Warning letter to tenant of a building 11 metres & above of annual check of flat fire door is to provide notice to a tenant to enable a check of a fire door to an individual flat entrance. This should be printed on the landlord’s headed paper and sent to the tenant.
Regulations 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require the Landlord to use their best endeavours to inspect the front fire doors of individual flats at least once a year. Tenants are required to comply under the Regulations and the general terms of their tenancy agreements but advance notice of inspection dates should be helpful in gaining access.
The template letter is a simple covering letter to help landlords and managers comply with their obligations. The safety information for each individual building is unique and the letter requires your specific building’s safety information to be attached as an enclosure. If access cannot be gained, the letter and other forms of action, such as phone records, emails and visits to the property to gain access should be gathered as evidence.
The letter is designed to provide the Landlord and Tenant with evidence that the Landlord has taken steps to carry out the fire door checks required under Regulation 10. The Tenant is asked to sign one copy of the Letter and return it to the Landlord to confirm receipt.
This letter is in open format. Either enter the requisite details in the highlighted fields or adjust the wording to suit your purposes.
