This Pro-Forma Response Letter regarding Updating Information is a letter of response addressed to the company. It should be sent by a registrable person with significant control (PSC) or relevant legal entity (RLE) to the company, under section 790H of the Companies Act 2006, the duty to update information to the company.

Why this letter may be needed

Companies must send a notice to those they know whose particulars have changed on the register of people with significant control held at Companies House. There may be circumstances where a company does not know, or does not have reasonable cause to believe, that a relevant change has occurred, so it will not have sent the statutory notice to the PSC or RLE.

If a registrable PSC or RLE's interest in the company does in fact change, they are under a duty to inform the company. This pro forma letter can be used for that purpose.
