Landlords or managers of HMOs in England must comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.

Regulations 9 and 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require the Landlord to provide new and existing occupiers with fire safety information and information about the importance of fire doors. The information should be supplied at the start of a tenancy and annually thereafter.

The template letter is a simple covering letter to help landlords and managers comply with their obligations. The safety information for each individual building is unique and the letter requires your specific building’s safety information to be attached as an enclosure.

The letter is designed to provide the Landlord and Tenant evidence that the requisite information has been provided in line with the Regulations. The Tenant is asked to sign one copy of the Letter and return it to the Landlord to confirm receipt.
