Care/Nursing Home H&S Statement/Statement of Intent
This Care Home / Nursing Home Health and Safety Statement has been written
specifically to suit a residential care home or nursing home. Residential
care homes or nursing homes have to comply with a mix of health and safety
regulations, rules governing qualified nurses and those imposed by the Care
Quality Commission. These regulations and the accompanying documents – the
Health and Safety Policy and the Arrangements & Procedures - together
set out the business’s commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of
not only its employees but also its residents or patients and their guests.
Even if you run a very small care home, it is unlikely that you will have
less than five employees (including part –timers), so to meet the
requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 you must have a
written Health and Safety Policy in addition to your Health and Safety
Statement. Having a Care or Nursing Home Health and Safety Statement is the
first step in ensuring your compliance.
When signed and dated by the most senior person in the business i.e. the
Managing Director or Senior Partner, this document should be displayed in
your workplace to demonstrate compliance.
Once you have purchased access to the appropriate document folder click on
