The Example COVID-19 Return to Work Office Risk Assessment Form template
has been provided to help assessors get started when they carry out a risk
assessment for their particular workplace, environment and facilities. This
document should be used as a guide/hints list when applying the COVID-19
Return to Work Blank Risk Assessment Form.
It is imperative that any risk assessment is specific to each business,
location and department and that all measures and controls are carried
out and not just recorded on the form.
This example risk assessment is designed to help small office based
businesses complete reasonable and practicable measures and controls to
enable staff return to work safely. The application of the COVID-19 risk
assessment forms presume that the hazard in respect of all these forms is
the risk to staff (and contractors and visitors as appropriate) of being
infected by the Coronavirus within the relevant location. The persons at risk in this example are the office staff, and provides for a vulnerable person. Additional controls/measures are required for vulnerable persons and these should be recorded on the risk assessment. This document has recently been updated to provide for the Government guidance on face coverings
The “Existing Controls”, “Further Measures” and “Action Required” details
serve as hints only and may or may not apply to another office workplace.
Such controls and measures will depend entirely on the relevant company’s /
business’ current health & safety procedures and the steps they have
taken (and some to be taken) in respect of managing the risk of coronavirus
infection in their particular workplace.
