Job Application Guidance Notes
The Job Application Guidance Notes and all the versions of the Job Application Forms comply with the Equality Act 2010.
It is considered good practice to exclude information such as Date of Birth, and dates in relation to previous employment from Job Application Form(s). Candidates are requested, however, to provide information about material gaps in their employment history.
The Personal Details section of the Job Application Forms have also been amended so that there is no direct request for information that might distinguish candidates on the basis of sex. Both these updates to the Job Application Form(s) have been reflected in the Guidance Notes.
These guidance notes should be sent out (with the Equality and Diversity / Equal Opportunity Recruitment Monitoring form) to applicants with the Application Form to help applicants complete the form.
These Job Application Guidance Notes contain explanations in respect of the following sections of the Application Forms:-
1. Introduction
2. Education and Professional Qualifications
3. Present Post
4. Previous Employment
5. Relevant Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and Experience
6. Other information
7. References
8. Declaration
9. Return Address
