Your health and safety policy should explain your company’s overall approach, identify who is responsible for particular tasks and describe the practical arrangements in place. The Statement, Policy and Arrangements and Procedures Documents can help you bring these elements together. In Great Britain, employers with five or more employees must have a written policy. Smaller employers can also benefit from recording their arrangements. Share your policy and any changes with your employees.

Under CDM 2015 in Great Britain, every construction project requires a construction phase plan before construction work begins, regardless of the size of your company or the project. The sole contractor prepares the plan on a project involving one contractor; the principal contractor prepares it where more than one contractor is involved.
