This Licence to Use Domestic Car Parking Space should be used where the owner of a car parking space wishes to permit another person to use the space to park a domestic vehicle.
This template can be used for a variety of types of parking space, such as a single open-air plot or a space in a multi-storey car park.

The use of a car parking space could be construed as a lease or a licence arrangement. This document aims to create a licence by (a) giving the Licensor the right to move the Licensee to a different parking space and (b) allowing the Licensor to limit the Licensee’s use to specified “Permitted Hours”. These provisions help to make the case that the Licensee does not have exclusive possession of the Premises (exclusive possession points towards the arrangement being a lease, with the risk that it is more difficult to take back possession of the premises).
The licence grants the Licensee the right to use the parking space for the Licence Period. If relevant, the Licensee is also given a right of way over any land owned by the Licensor which gives access to the parking space.
The Licensee is to pay a licence fee. No mention is made of council tax, business rates or utilities charges. If any of these apply to the parking space, the Licensor must make sure that the licence fee is sufficient to cover these outgoings.
The Licence Period can be brought to an end early by either party giving notice as set out in clause 4.
