Whistleblowing Policy

EMP.RE.03.06.A

The Whistleblowing Policy refers to the terms and conditions of employment concerning confidentiality, but confirms that the law allows employees to make a ‘Protected Disclosure’ of certain information. This "certain information" is defined in the Policy covering issues from criminal offences to the protection of the environment, endangerment of health & safety of any individual and deliberate concealment.

Whistleblowing protection is confined to employees making a disclosure which, in the reasonable belief of that worker, is made in the public interest. Whistleblowing protection is expanded to employees who make disclosures in bad faith but, in those circumstances, a tribunal has the ability to reduce compensation by up to 25%.

This Whistleblowing Policy contains clauses stressing the importance of reporting any corruption-related activity. This is to aid companies to encourage an anti-bribery culture within the company as required by the Bribery Act 2010.

This policy is duplicated in the Employment 'Bribery Act Documents' subfolder and the Business 'Bribery Act 20120 & Policies' subfolder.

This template is in open format. Either enter the requisite details in the highlighted fields or adjust the wording to suit your purposes.
