This Guidance Note: Property Inventories is a guide on the importance of providing tenants with a detailed, accurate inventory at the start of a new tenancy to help avoid disputes when a letting comes to an end.

The Guidance Note provides an overview of the type and extent of information which should be incorporated, as well as a process which can be followed when carrying out a check-in and check-out inventory inspection with a tenant. 

The Guidance Note should be read in conjunction with the Pro-forma Inventory.
