Scaffold inspections are the legal obligation of the scaffold hirer and should be conducted before first use of the scaffolding and every 7 days thereafter. These scaffold inspections should also take place after adverse weather conditions and major alterations.

Scaffold inspections should only be carried out by a ‘competent person’, this means a person who has attended an appropriate course.
