Form N11R Tenant Defence Form

The Form N11R Defence Form is the court form to be used by a tenant who wishes to defend a landlord’s possession claim or is seeking a postponement of possession on the grounds of exceptional hardship.

The defence will either set out why the tenant believes that the landlord is not entitled to possession or will set out details of the exceptional hardship.

The template form  should be opened on the Government website,  a copy saved and then that copy can be completed.

A court will send the Form N11R Form to the defendant with the claim for possession.  The court will also tell the defendant of the date of the hearing.

If the landlord wishes to respond to the claim,  the landlord should complete the form and return it to the court within 14 days of receipt.
