The Renters' Rights Act 2025 And Wales 

Whilst the majority of reforms apply to England, Welsh landlords should be aware that, since 1 June 2026, they have also been prohibited from engaging in discriminatory practices, specifically refusing tenancies on the grounds that a tenant is in receipt of benefits or who have children.  Landlords cannot refuse or restrict these households from enquiring about a property or exclude them from entering into a tenancy agreement. 

When Did These Changes Take Effect?

These rules came into force in Wales on 1 June 2026.
