Maternity Health and Safety Forms
Regulation 16 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires employers to take all reasonable precautions to specifically ensure the safety of a new mother or expectant mother. All workplaces need to be carefully risk assessed when an expectant mother or new mother works there. This is because working conditions normally considered acceptable may no longer be so during pregnancy and/or while breastfeeding.
This Maternity Health and Safety sub-folder contains a specific New/Expectant Mother Workplace Risk Assessment form and a standard letter to use to write to a new or expectant mother about the risk assessment. This folder also includes a worked example of the New/Expectant Mother Risk Assessment which can be a useful guide to the type of issues to consider when completing the risk assessment.
