Hybrid Working and Home Working Documents
The requirement for an employer to safeguard their home-working employees' health, safety and welfare is the same as if they were in the office. There will be obvious differences between the two workplaces, but employers are still required to make sure that certain aspects of the working environment have been considered.
These home working documents include a specific risk assessment form for those working from home as well as a Home Working Health and Safety Policy, outlining the obligations to be complied with by both the company and the employee.
During the Covid-19 emergency many employees started working from home for the first time and it was not always possible for employers to complete all of the normal risk assessment tasks on their employees’ home working environment. Now that Covid-19 restrictions have been removed many employees are still working from home and employers should now be making sure that they carry out these risk assessments.
Many employees have now permanently migrated to a hybrid working arrangement, and a Hybrid Working H&S Policy and Guidance Notes to accompany this are also available. The Home Working Risk Assessment Form is also applicable to a hybrid working arrangement.
These templates have been written to comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
