Employee Secondment Letter Agreement (Internal)
An internal secondment is an arrangement whereby an employee is temporarily assigned to work for another team, department or office within the same company or organisation. This Employee Secondment Letter Agreement (Internal) is between the team or department whose employee is being seconded (‘the secondee’) and the secondee. It sets down the terms of the secondment to the host team, department or office.
The idea behind an internal secondment is that the company ‘lends’ the secondee to the host team, department or office but the company remains the employer throughout and the secondee’s continuity of employment is preserved. At the end of the secondment, the intention is that the secondee will return to their original role on their normal terms and conditions of employment.
This Internal Secondment Letter Agreement covers:
- The purpose;
- Duration; and
- Terms of the secondment.
