Charity Policies and Procedures

Charities, like other organisations, should have written policies and procedures relating to important topics.

Each such policy and procedure should make it clear whether, and the extent to which, it applies to volunteers as well as to employees. In many cases, e.g. data protection/confidentiality, health & safety, these policies and procedures will apply to volunteers and they should be brought to their attention before they begin their volunteering work for the charity.
